Free calls to New Zealand mobiles

How can I make totally free calls to New Zealand mobiles using a VOIP service?

Voip rules in New Zealand are quite flexible. I mean yes you can use Voip services to make cheap and freephone calls. There are actually many voip providers offering free calls to New Zealand landlines phones but a very few offers free calls to New Zealand mobile phone.

Webcalldirect and other betamax services offer free calls to New Zealand landlines phones. However they charged about 17 cents per minute while calling landline phones.

I guess one way would be to ask the one you want to call in New Zealand to use Voip software in his mobile. He can either use Fring or any other SIP application and using Wi-fi hotspots you can talk for free. Many other mobile voip services can also be used.

If you dont want to use Voip in mobile then you have to ook for some voip trial offer to make free calls to New Zealand mobile phones.

Want to make Free India to Australia calling

I found this question at one of the other voip forums (obviously not answered). So I thought to cover this question on my blog as it may help others too.


"Hi i am from India. I want to make free calls to Australia. Please tell which service is available, how can I use and what are its charges ?"


My answer to him -:
So you want to make free calls to Australia. The answer is to use Voip. Now you can either use a Free Pc to Phone calling service or you can even make use of Phone to Phone calling, another option would be using a voip adapter.


If you are new to voip (the person asking the questions seemed so), then I would suggest you to use Free PC to Phone calling service to Australia. This way it will not matter from where you are calling (this case India) but only thing which matters is the destination you want to call.

A computer with internet connection (broadband), headset and MIC.

The first name which comes to my mind is Mediaringtalk (each call will last about 10 min, but you can call that number again and again, so its unlimited free calls to Australia).
Another voip provider offering free calls to Australia is any betamax provider. I use webcalldirect.com (make multiple accounts, each gets you 5 min free calls).

Is it worth getting rid of your fixed phone line : Using Voip

This is a very popular question asked by many people all round the globe.

Someone asked to me "I am planning togetting rid of my fixed phone line and just using VOiP. Are there any drawback? I make most of my calls via my mobile and landline phone. I need to know a reliable VoiP service."

Well friend, getting rid of your mobile and landline both completely will be a bad idea. I would suggest you to get rid of your landline phone and still continue with your mobile phone.

And regarding using voip, better use a voip adapter at your home for making voip calls. You can also make Pc to Phone calls or using any SIP device. To reduce your mobile phone bills, it would be better to use Mobile voip (fring etc) or any other SIP service in your mobile phone.

I must tell you that you will save a lot of money if you start using Voip. The only drawback being that you won't be able to make emergency call and you need full time internet broadband connection. (So if you still continue with your mobile phone, both your problems will be solved).

Regarding finding a good voip provider (it depends on country you are living and country you call most), just surf this voip blog. I am sure you will find a good voip provider for yourself.
