A very large part of voip is covered by Skype and a very large part of mobile phone business is captured by Nokia. How about when these two telecom giants combine together. Well this partnership is really now.
Now you can enjoy free Skype to Skype calls and cheap Skype to PSTN calls directly from your Nokia mobile. Its been from a major strategic partnership between two telecom gaints Nokia and Skype.
Skype will be available in high-end Nokia Nseries devices running the Symbian S60 operating system, offering users like you pre-loaded out-of-the-box Skype calls, instant messages and more, via both 3G and WiFi. Beginning in the third quarter of 2009, Skype will come pre-installed on new Nokia N97 devices, and existing N97 owners will also be able to get Skype functionality through a firmware update.
I guess this will indeed help a lot of people who want to use voip in their mobile but are too lazy to install and configure mobile voip. Its a great step by Skype and Nokia helping people make cheap voip phone calls.
I just hope to see more such collaborations between telecom giants. It will indeed lead to a much cheaper calling world.
